Because She is You
Does it Feel Like the Dementia Keeps Winning?
the person You once knew is fading
Conversations Feel repetitive
Familiar Glances disappearing
It’s Heartbreaking to Feel the Connection Slipping Away.
Words don’t work like they used to
Reaching them feels harder with each day
connection is still possible
just in a different way.
Art therapy offers a new language when words no longer work.
Let’s explore what’s still there.
When Words Start to Fail
connection doesn’t have to.
Many caregivers and professionals come to me feeling lost—watching someone they love slowly fade behind dementia. Communication breaks down. Familiarity drifts. And yet, there’s still a person in there, waiting to be seen, heard, and reached.
Art becomes the bridge.
Hi! I’m Erica Curcio
For over a decade, I’ve helped adults and older adults reconnect with themselves and their Loved Ones through art therapy. Whether they’re living with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Frontotemporal Dementia, or other cognitive challenges, I’ve seen firsthand how creativity offers new ways to express, soothe, and feel joy again.
In a moment of quiet painting or playful mark-making, we find presence. A way to “speak without speaking.”
This isn’t about art technique—it’s about creating moments of dignity, recognition, and emotional clarity for those who need it most.
There’s Still a Way to Reach Them.
Through color, texture, and movement, art opens doors that dementia tries to close.
I’ll help you find the key.
