Art therapy for dementia has the potential to unlock something inside all of us.

Living with a dementia disorder shouldn’t stop your creative process.

We bring simple, individualized art selections to cognitively and emotionally support clients during their sessions. We help reduce feelings of overwhelm by understanding dementia disorders and what changes are happening in the brain.

Clients make their own decisions, which helps with feeling more in control and enhances self-esteem.

How Art Therapy for Dementia works

Art therapy for dementia is unique because it happens where we all feel most comfortable → Home. We bring the supplies and meet weekly with clients for 60 to 90 minutes.

We use art supplies that meet client’s needs, while allowing them to challenge their capabilities. Family members often say, “I didn’t know they could do that!” after looking at artwork created in session.

Some clients choose to create art from their mind while others may prefer more structure and ask to learn certain techniques. Together our therapists and clients work to create the connection that has the most meaning for them, creating feeling of joy and accomplishment along the way.

Art Therapy for dementia

We believe that people work better where they feel most comfortable, at home. Our art therapist travels to your home with all the supplies needed for an hour long art therapy session. During these sessions, the person living with dementia can expect to feel and might show you a level of confidence you might not normally see.
